Wettest May on Record in Montgomery

   This has been the wettest May on record and we’re not done yet. So far this month 12-point-2 inches of rain has fallen on the city. The majority of that, 8.15 inches, fell on May 20 – setting a record for that date. The wettest May before this one was in 1978 when the city got 12.01 inches of rain. For the year, Montgomery has received 33.47 inches of rainfall. Normally the area averages around 22.78 inches by this time. That’s a surplus of more than 10 inches for the year.
