VictoryLand Casino Ruling

Justices on the Alabama Supreme Court provided an emphatic opinion on electronic bingo yesterday.  The Court ruled against VictoryLand casino saying electronic gambling machines seized there in 2013 are illegal.  The Justices wrote that the electronic bingo machines, which resemble slot machines, are not what was intended by state laws allowing card and paper type bingo games.  The Court went on to state that they hoped this was the final decision in the state's protracted legal war over gambling devices.  As part of the ruling, the state is allowed to keep the machines and money that it seized from the Macon County casino during a 2013 raid.
