Three people were killed in traffic accidents in the area over the weekend. Most recently, a three-vehicle crash claimed the live of a Montgomery man. State Troopers say 20 year-old Michael Jeffrey Bonner was killed when the car he was driving collided with an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck. The wreck apparently took place on U.S. Highway 82 yesterday, about eight miles east of Maplesville.
Another young man died in a crash in Lowndes County. Troopers report that 19-year-old Deondre Goldsmith of Fort Deposit was fatally injured when his vehicle ran off County Road 45 and struck a utility pole around 11 p.m. Saturday night.
Earlier Saturday evening an accident on Interstate 65 proved fatal. Authorities say an SUV crashed on I-65 about 14 miles north of Prattville. A child in the vehicle was killed. Trooper say the girl, whose age was not given, was not using a seat belt and was ejected from the SUV. The 31-year-old female driver was taken to a local hospital.
