Teens Arrested

Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the burning of Flip's Uptown Grill on the Atlanta Highway last month.  Investigators say the three males, two 16 and one 17, have each been charged with arson and burglary.  The juveniles are believed to have set the fire to cover up the burglary.  They've all been placed in the Montgomery County Youth Detention Facility.  The restaurant was just weeks away from celebrating its 20th anniversary at that location when the fire occurred.  The owner tells the Montgomery Advertiser he does plan to reopen.

Prattville's LPGA

After a one-year absence, the LPGA is returning to Prattville.  The LPGA Tour announced it will return to the Capitol Hill Golf Course in Prattville for the Alabama LPGA Classic September 18th through the 21st.  The tournament will feature a purse of $1.3 million dollars.  Formerly known as the Navistar LPGA Classic, it will take place the week after the tour's fifth and final major championship of the year and just before the Ladies move into the Asian portion of their schedule in early October.

Lincoln Cemetery

A local civic organization has set its sights on improving a historic African-American cemetery.  The Montgomery Sunrise Rotary Club wants to raise$140,000 dollars to make capital upgrades at Lincoln Cemetery.  Improvement Committee Chairman for the club David O'Meara says the graveyard along Lincoln and Harrison roads is a worthwhile project.
