More Details in Montgomery Homicide Arrest

Montgomery Police have made an arrest in a shooting death that occurred Tuesday.  41-year-old Reshid Webb of Montgomery has been charged with one count of murder in the death of 45-year-old Marcus Webb.  The two are reportedly unrelated.  The shooting happened early Tuesday morning in the 800 block of Cloverhill Drive.  Investigators believe an ongoing dispute led to the incident.  Webb has been placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $250,000 bond.

Bentley's Second Term

Republican Governor Robert Bentley has embarked upon his second term with his swearing-in Monday.  WVAS News asked Alabama State University Political Science Professor Dr. Birdie Larkin about her expectations from this administration.  She believes Bentley will not deviate from the agenda of the super majority.  One area Dr. Larking thinks the governor might shift his stance is Medicaid.  Last month Bentley did say he was willing to consider a state-designed program that used federal Medicaid expansion dollars to increase coverage.  But the plan would include the private sector and require people to work.

Boaters Rescued

Alabama Department of Public Safety officials say three people whose boat capsized on the Tallapoosa River have been rescued.  Sgt. Steve Jarrett said in a statement that State Troopers rescued the boaters early Wednesday near Martin Dam.  Jarrett says the boaters were fishing when their 16-foot vessel capsized and left them stranded on Middle Pond Island.  The boaters weren't injured.
