Montgomery Water Safety

If the Flint, Michigan water crisis has you wondering about the safety of Montgomery's water, fear not.  The latest quality report from Montgomery Water Works found no lead in the city's water.  Water Works General Manager Buddy Morgan tells the Montgomery Advertiser that 100 samples are taken from local residences, 50 to test for lead and 50 to test for copper.  He says a tinge of copper is detected once in a while, but only trace amounts well below action levels.  Morgan also said Montgomery is in the process of replacing all copper and lead piping remaining in the city with plastic piping.  He calls what happened in Flint "inexcusable."  The city expects all lead piping to be replaced in five year at the most.
