Montgomery Public School Board Will Close Three Schools
Montgomery, Alabama – Teachers, administrators, and students today are reacting to plans by the Montgomery County Board of Education to close three of its schools.
The system is closing Hayneville Road, Paterson and Pintlala Elementary schools at the end of this school year.
School Superintendent John Dilworth called for the closures to save the district $2.2 million dollars.
Dilworth says the system faces a budget shortfall of nearly $28 million dollars next fiscal year which begins on October 1.
