Montgomery police find cash hidden in tractor-trailer

Montgomery, AL – - Montgomery police have seized more than
$383,000 in cash they found hidden in a vehicle during a routine
traffic stop.
Police officials said officers stopped a tractor-trailer truck
about 11 p.m. Tuesday for speeding on Interstate 65. The
47-year-old driver acted strange and officers asked for permission
to search the vehicle. They found the cash in a hidden compartment
in the back of the cab.
Police said a drug-sniffing dog detected traces of drugs on the
money. The driver owned the truck, but he told police he had no
idea how the money got into the cab. He has not been charged.
The truck was traveling from Georgia to Texas when officers
stopped it.
