A Madison County assistant district attorney has been reassigned to non-courtroom duties after being arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Jail records show Thomas Paul Barnett was arrested Saturday morning. He was released on a $1,000 bond the same day. No further details have been released. Madison County District Attorney Robert L. Broussard said Barnett made a mistake.
