Legislative Session Returns Tuesday

Legislators will hit the ground running as they return from spring break Tuesday.  On their plate, legislation to give teachers a pay raise, lottery bills, Governor Robert Bentley's $800 million prison construction project, proposed changes to teacher tenure and evaluations and payday loan regulations.  Not to mention Governor Bentley has said he will veto a general fund budget that he says does not provide adequate funding for Medicaid.  Lawmakers have said they intend to override the veto.  Speaking of the governor, at least one lawmaker has said he wants to consider an impeachment resolution against Bentley, but other Republicans called that discussion premature.  Bentley recently admitted inappropriate conversations with a top female aide.
