Former Employee Accused of Check Fraud

A 47-year-old former nursing home employee is accused of writing checks from patient accounts.  Attorney General Luther Strange Friday announced the arrest of Elener Wyckoff.  She surrendered to the Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Office, and has since been released after posting $10,000 bond.  Wyckoff was indicted Jan. 19 after Strange's Medical Fraud Control Unit went before a Tallapoosa County grand jury.  Authorities said that while Alexander City woman worked as a social services assistant at Adams Nursing home, she stole $2,470 from patient accounts.
