First Board of Trustees meeting for Alabama State University's new president

Dr. Quinton Ross didn’t waste any time getting to work at his first Board of Trustees meeting as Alabama State University’s new president. Dr. Ross suggested that the board make a 15 percent cut in supplies spending to, in turn, put into the budget for maintenance and infrastructure. Even though the fiscal 2018 budget had already passed earlier this year, the board left room for Ross to make some alterations. His measure was approved. Dr. Ross also asked for personnel changes that were approved. Several new positions were created, like assistant vice president of buildings and facilities, director of public safety, director of risk management and chief of staff.
