Delivery Driver Survives Crossbow Shooting

A man practicing with his crossbow in his front yard accidentally shot a United Parcel Service driver in the chest, that’s according to law enforcement officials.   Citing Autauga County Sheriff's Office records, a local news outlet reports the UPS delivery man was driving around noon Thursday when a crossbow bolt flew into his truck, striking him.

Deputies say the driver was taken to the hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.  Officials say 55-year-old Ronald Curtis Gantt has been charged with assault in the case.  Gantt told authorities he was target practicing in his front yard when he shot the driver.  Investigators are calling the incident an accident, but are charging Gantt due to the reckless nature of his actions.
