Ala's largest casino reopens Friday afternoon

Montgomery, AL – - The owner of VictoryLand in Shorter,
Milton McGregor, says he will reopen the state's largest casino at
1 p.m. Friday despite the possibility of a raid.
The commander of the Governor's Task Force on Illegal Gambling
says McGregor can expect a visit. Commander John Tyson says if
VictoryLand's machines are legal, that's fine. If they aren't
legal, the task force will enforce the law.
The casino's 6,400 machines were shut down Feb. 1 and the entire
complex was closed Feb. 4 to prevent a raid by the governor's task
force.
McGregor's decision to reopen comes one day after the Macon
County sheriff and district attorney watched a demonstration of the
games and declared them legal electronic bingo.
