Alabama's Secretary of State Ponders Race for Lt. Governor

Montgomery, Alabama – MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Secretary of State Beth Chapman says
she's seriously considering running for lieutenant governor in
2010.
Chapman says she will make a decision by June 1 on whether to
enter the Republican race. If she doesn't, she says she will seek a
second term as secretary of state.
The former chairman of the political science department at the
University of Alabama, William Stewart, says Chapman would be a
formidable candidate because of her experience in state government
and her excellent speaking ability.
