Ala voters head to the polls Tuesday to decide dozens of races

Montgomery, Al – - The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
for Alabama's Democratic and Republican primary elections.
Election officials remind voters that they will need
identification to vote Tuesday. That can include anything from a
driver's license to a utility bill. Voters will also have to pick
one primary. Voting in both is not permitted.
The state's chief election official, Secretary of State Beth
Chapman, anticipates voter turnout of 35 percent to 38 percent.
That would be in line with the turnouts from similar primaries in
2002 and 2006.
