Academy of Honor Welcomes New Members

The Alabama Academy of Honor welcomed eight new members Monday.  All the inductees are living Alabamians who have significant accomplishments in their respective field.  Apple Chief Executive and Robertsdale native Tim Cook was the keynote speaker for the group.  His remarks centered on Alabama's civil rights history.  Some other inductees included Alabama Head Football Coach Nick Saban, U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions, University of Alabama President Judy Bonner and biotech leader Jim Hudson Jr.  The Alabama Academy of Honor is made up of 100 living Alabama natives or residents and the state's living governors.

Technology Donation

During Apple Chief Tim Cook's remarks to fellow inductees at Monday's Alabama Academy of Honor ceremony, he announced part of an education initiative his company is rolling out.  He says 114 schools across the country will receive $100 million dollars in computer technology, including schools in central Alabama.  Tuskegee Public School, Booker T.
