December 11,2008 – Retiring Alabama Congressman Bud Cramer was the only member of Alabama's 7-member House delegation to vote in favor of the $14 billion dollar loan package for the auto industry. Meanwhile, Alabama Senator Richard Shelby,a ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee continues to speak against the plan.

The Alabama Department of Public Safety reports the powdery substance found on a mail bag at a mail room in downtown Montgomery was not a dangerous substance. The substance was discovered Wednesday morning.

The NCAA Committee on Infractions has placed ASU's Football program on five years probation and a 2009 post season competition ban in response to NCAA rules violations.
