December 3,2008 – Some of the stories making headlines this hour in the WVAS newsroom:

Governor Bob Riley, back from a meeting with President-elect Barack Obama, says he finds Obama to be engaging and genuinely concerned about how the economic downturn is impacting state governments.

Hyundai is out with some discouraging news. It soled fewer cars last month than in any single month in the past year. Officials with the Montgomery Hyundai plant report that despite the decrease in sales nationally, there facility will run according to its previous production schedule.

The Alabama State University Center for Leadership and Public Policy is holding its Bridge Builder's Breakfast Lecture Series this morning beginning at 7:30. The event is free and open to the public. It features Alabama Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb as the guest speaker today. The event will be held at the RSA Activity Center and will be simulcast on WVAS FM.
