If you are headed to Cramton Bowl this evening be prepared for new security measures at the stadium.  Police and sheriff's deputies say everyone including layers, fans, cheerleaders and band members will be screened with hand held metal detectors. 

Bentley Visits

Governor Robert Bentley will make a stop at the Golden Dragon Copper Tubing plant near Pine Hill in Wilcox County.  The $100 million dollar facility is under construction and its expected to employ at least 300 people.  The governor will also make a lunch time visit at Mrs. Kitty's restaurant in Camden and he'll conduct a business roundtable with the Wilcox County Chamber of Commerce. 

Tuskegee Teacher 

State Troopers say a high school teacher from Tuskegee was killed in a car crash in Russell County.  Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor said 40-year-old Wileatha Brown of Tuskegee was pronounced dead at the scene of the Wednesday morning crash on U.S. 431 and Alabama Highway 169.  Russell County Schools Superintendent Mike Green said Brown was in her first year as a science teacher at Russell County High School.  Troopers said Brown was driving a sedan that collided with a semitrailer. 

Accountability Lawsuit

A state lawmaker from Montgomery and two education officials have filed a state lawsuit to have the Alabama Accountability Act ruled unconstitutional.  The lawsuit was filed on behalf of State Senator Quinton Ross, Lowndes County Schools Superintendent Daniel Boyd and Alabama Education Association president Anita Gibson.  The Accountability Act provides tax credits of about $3,500 dollars for parents who move their children from a failing public school to a private school.  The Southern Poverty Law Center also filed a lawsuit this month to try blocking the legislation from being implemented.
