Two Montgomery teenagers are charged with capital murder in the city's 37th homicide.  At a press conference Tuesday, Montgomery Police Chief Kevin Murphy said the 13 and 15-year-old suspects met 19-year-old Christopher Lewis online.  The boys are alleged to have killed Lewis during a robbery last Saturday in the 2200 block of Bonaparte Boulevard.  Montgomery's Public Safety Director, Chris Murphy is calling on residents to become more involved.  Murphy said the suspects' name have not been released. 

Faulkner University Shooting

Montgomery Police say a woman suffered life-threatening gun shot wounds after an apparent domestic violence incident at Faulkner University Tuesday afternoon.  According to police, the victim is a contract employee for the university's maintenance department.  Faulkner University spokesman, Dave Hogan says no students were hurt in the incident. 

Prison Issues

The Chairman of the Joint Legislative Prison Committee is bullish on community corrections as a means to reduce overcrowding in Alabama's prisons.  Republican Senator Cam Ward of Alabaster is asking the Department of Corrections Commissioner to expand the alternative sentencing method across the state.  Ward believes the crush of prisoners in Alabama's correctional facilities is part of what leads to allegations of inmate abuse. 

ASU March on Washington

A group of Alabama State University students and staff members are soaking up history at the National Mall.  The delegation has been in Washington since Sunday and has participated in marches, rallies and conferences.  Cherise Peters, Vice President for Enrollment Management at ASU said she was there 50 years ago during the iconic march for freedom.  ASU will hold a citywide commemoration of the March on Washington Wednesday in from of the Levi Watkins Learning Center near North University Drive.
