Governor Robert Bentley signed into law two military focused pieces of legislation.  House Bill 338 and 424 both deal with licensure and Bentley says are a way to thank members of the military for their service.  Both bills passed before the close of the 2013 Legislative session. 

Questplex Campaign

The campaign for Questplex was officially launched Thursday in Montgomery.  The $22 million dollar global education and discovery center will feature a library, children's museum, planetarium and gift shop.  The campaign seeks to raise $5.5 million dollars from corporations and citizens in the River Region. 

Fake Drugs

Federal authorities say a Wilcox County sheriff's deputy has been charged with trying to transport and distribute drugs.  Officials says 45-year-old Greg Barge was arrested Wednesday and is accused of transporting what he thought was cocaine between Montgomery and Camden.  A complaint filed in federal court accuses Barge of being paid $800 in April and $1,200 in May to transport the fake drugs.  Barge faces a minimum of five years in prison.
