An automotive supplier in the River Region is breaking ground on a 300,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Montgomery.  Mayor Todd Strange, Governor Robert Bentley and other officials will participate in a ceremony today at Montgomery Industrial Park for DAS North America.  The company produces seats for Hyundai and Kia vehicles.  Mayor Strange returned to Montgomery this week from the Paris Air Show.  Strange said he held discussions with aerospace supply companies. 

Capital Murder Case

A Montgomery man is wanted for questioning in connection with a capital murder case.  Authorities have been searching for 26-year-old Harvey Johnson.  He's wanted for theft and for questioning in the capital murder of Cherokee Johnson, the victim was found shot to death on Foshee Road on January 8th.  Anyone with information regarding Johnson's whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at 215-STOP. 

Telephone Scam

Beware of a telephone scam.  The warning comes from the Montgomery Police Department to local businesses.  Police said solicitors are calling businesses and telling them they have a late utility bill and that the utility will be turned off if they do not pay.  The scam artist is asking the business to put money on a green dot card and call them with the card number so they can receive a payment.  Montgomery Police want businesses who received the solicitation to contact their utility company before making any payment.  They also ask businesses to call MPD at 625-2831. 

Apartment Fire

Montgomery Firefighters battled a late night fire that damaged several apartments at the Woodley Oaks Complex on Woodley Road.  Firefighters said no one was hurt.  Investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.
