Gov. Robert Bentley's state finance director, Marquita Davis is leaving for a new job in Birmingham.  Bentley's press secretary, said Davis has accepted a job as executive director of the Jefferson County Committee for Economic Opportunity.  She will move to her new job after the current legislative session ends later this month. 

Tuskegee BOT

Democratic state Rep.  Pebblin Warren of Tuskegee has been appointed to the Tuskegee University Board of Trustees.  Gov. Robert Bentley announced the appointment Friday.   Warren will fill the seat currently held by James Cade Armstrong. 

Soldier Found Dead

Relatives of a Fort Benning soldier found dead in Alabama say his wife asked for a divorce before he was killed.  Now, the woman and her boyfriend are both charged with murder in the gunshot killing of the soldier.  Relatives of Sgt. First Class Donald Lashon Wilson spoke about his killing with WTVM-TV. 

Jail Escapee Captured

An Alabama jail escapee has been recaptured in Kentucky.  WAFF-TV reports federal marshals arrested Terry Myers late Thursday after a two-hour standoff at his mother's home in Laurel County, Ky.  Myers was reported missing from the Lauderdale County Jail on April 22.
