Montgomery police have made an arrest in a shooting spree at the Rose Supper Club near the downtown district that injured six people earlier this month.  The Montgomery Police Department said 27-year-old Quinterrus Riley was charged with two counts of second-degree assault.  The investigation indicated the December 3rd shooting occurred after Riley and another person got into an altercation.  Police said Riley was released on a $30,000 dollars bond. 

Tornado Touchdown

The National Weather Service has confirmed that storm damage in Birmingham was caused by an EF-1 tornado with maximum winds estimated at 90 mile-per-hour.  The National Weather Service says the tornado hit just before 5 a.m. Monday in the area around Finley Avenue near the Birmingham farmer's market.  Birmingham Mayor William Bell said no one was injured from severe weather that damaged roofs and broke windows. 

ASU Police Chief

Alabama State University named  police investigator Jim Grayboys as Interim Police Chief, Monday.  Grayboys, a veteran of law enforcement has been with ASU for nearly two years.  Grayboys told WVAS News that he was humbled by the promotion.   

Spending Cuts

A state task force report will recommend ways to cut Alabama's law enforcement spending, most likely by combining some of the state's 22 law enforcement agencies.  The Anniston Star reports that members of the Integrated State Law Enforcement Task Force aren't yet giving specifics of what would be cut under the proposal.  The report is to be delivered to Governor Robert Bentley this weekend.
