The Co-Chairman of the Delta Regional Authority is highlighting small businesses in eight states today.  Christopher Masingill made a stop at the "Deep Wood BBQ" restaurant in Hayneville today.  The family-owned business is run by Mary Bell and sister Cherry Prince.  Prince said the Delta Regional Authority is having a positive impact.  Delta Regional Authority officials also made stops today in Monroe, Louisiana, Ridgeland, Mississippi and Barlett, Tennessee.

Sold-Out

Thursday's 89th annual Turkey Day Classic football game is a sell-out.  Dr. John Knight Executive Assistant to the President, made the announcement at a business and community breakfast this morning.  An enthusiastic Dr. Knight said he expects to see large crowds on the ASU campus on Thanksgiving Day.  Kick-off time is 3 p.m for ASU's first-ever football game at the new 26,500 seat stadium. 

MPD Investigation

An attempted murder-suicide is under investigation by Montgomery police.  Officers were called to a residence in the 1900 block of James Avenue near the downtown area.  Martha Earnhardt, a spokeswoman for the Montgomery Department of Public Safety, said officers found a man dead and a woman with life threatening injuries.  Their names were not released.  Earnhardt said police responded to the call about 5:30 p.m. this morning. 

Chilton County

Chilton County Commissioners have voted to give a shuttered hospital nearly one million dollars.  Commissioners decided during a meeting Monday to  provide $960,000 dollars to the board that operates Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.  The hospital closed last month because it could not meet its payroll.  The Department of Public Health suspended the hospital's operating license, but the agency delayed a hearing on whether to revoke the license.
