Wetumpka City Council Considers Raise for Police Force

Wetumpka, Alabama –
The city of Wetumpka is considering increasing the salary of those who serve and protect Wetumpka Residents.

Currently, Wetumpka Police earn $28,384 dollars annually. Wetumpka officials say they are considering an increase to make the pay more competitive with that of surrounding cities.

Montgomery Police officers earn up to $36,534 annually, and Prattville's Police officers earn $31,566 per year.

The proposal to increase Wetumpka City Police officers' salaries will be discussed during Thursday night's Wetumpka City Council meeting.
