VictoryLand Owner Says Casino Will Reopen

VictoryLand officials met Monday on the grounds of the gaming complex in Macon County to announce, that doors would reopen as soon as early summer.  Last Thursday, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that it was legal for the state to seize electronic bingo machines and cash in 2013.  Milton McGregor, owner of VictoryLand says, the recent Supreme Court opinion is not the end of the gaming facility.  McGregor said he expects many of the games offered at the casino to be identical to what is played at other nearby Indian casinos.  He also added, as many as 4,000 applicants from Lee, Russell and Montgomery counties have applied.
