Unemployment Compensation Amount Increases

Montgomery, Alabama – There is a little good news for out of work Alabamians. Beginning today, the newly unemployed will receive an additional $10 dollars per week in their unemployment compensation checks.

Alabama Department of Industrial Relations officials say the increase means the maximum benefit amount will increase to $265.00 per week.

Officials state that only new claimants filed on our after July 5,2009 are eligible for the increase.
