A pair of accidents claimed lives in Central Alabama over the weekend. State Troopers report that a driver fleeing from Prattville police was killed when his vehicle left the roadway and overturned. It happened Friday night on Autauga County Road 82, about three miles north of Prattville. The man reportedly was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. An infant passenger was also ejected from the vehicle. The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver, identified as 50 year old Ambrose Wood of Columbiana, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other details were provided by authorities.
Another single-vehicle wreck took place early Sunday morning. According to troopers a pickup truck ran off U-S Highway 231 and overturned around 12:30 am. The driver, 27 year old Benjamin Richard Prickett of Wellington died when he was ejected from the vehi
cle. It happened south of U-S Highway 80 in Coosa County. Troopers continue to investigate a cause.
