Two Die in Separate Homicides

Police are looking into two separate homicides that occurred in Montgomery over the weekend.  Both occurred on Sunday.  At around 8:40 p.m. emergency personnel were called to the 1100 block of St. James Street on a report of a subject shot.  Police soon ascertained that the victim had already been taken to a local hospital by private vehicle.  They say 24-year-old Lamark Stineson of Montgomery was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Around 11:45 that same night police were called to the 100 block of East South Boulevard on another shooting.  Like the previous case, the victim had already been transported in a personal vehicle to the hospital.  Police say 20-year-old Gregory Smith of Selma died from his injuries.

Authorities have made no arrests and have released no other details regarding the circumstances of either shooting.  Anyone with information on these homicides are asked to call police at 625-2831 or the Secret Witness line at 262-4000 or Crimestoppers , which is 215-STOP.
