Tuskegee University Extends Deadline in Presidential Search

Tuskegee, Alabama –
TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) - The executive director of Tuskegee
University's presidential search committee says the deadline for
accepting applications for the position has been extended until
July 31.
Charlotte Morris said the university also has put out a request
for proposals to hire a search firm to assist the efforts to find
the school's sixth president.
Applications will be evaluated by a presidential search
committee appointed by the university's board of trustees.

Morris said Tuskegee's current president, Benjamin F. Payton,
announced plans to retire in June 2010, having served for 20 years.
