Tourism officials say dozens of Ala towns to hold 4th of July celebrations

By 30 Ala towns commemorate nation's bithday with 4th of July events

Montgomery, AL – - More than 30 towns are planning
Independence Day events as part of Alabama's Year of Small Towns
and Downtowns.
State tourism officials say Decatur has one of the biggest
celebrations with the Spirit of America Festival from July 2-4.
Historic markers will be unveiled in Bay Minette, Lincoln and
Midway on July 3. Wedowee has a boat parade that day. Boaz and
Chelsea have fireworks displays that night.
Fireworks are slated on July 4 in many towns, including Athens,
Demopolis, Fairhope, Mobile and Orange Beach. Tourism officials say
one of the largest fireworks displays in the Southeast will be held
at Lake Martin.
