Toddler Killed in Chilton Accident

A four-year old child was killed in an accident in Chilton County Tuesday.  State Troopers report that the male child was not in a child restraint seat when the SUV he was riding in left the roadway and overturned.  The boy was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.  The child's mother and another child in the front seat were wearing seatbelts and were not injured, according to police.  The mother is reportedly from Clanton.  The crash occurred at approximately 1 p.m. where Chilton County Roads 530 and 23 intersect, just over nine miles south of Clanton.  No word on what led to the wreck.
