Southern Democrats

He might have been a featured speaker at the Republican National Convention three years ago, but Artur Davis says he is a better fit with Southern Democrats.  The former Democratic congressman is waging a legal fight to run for Montgomery County Commission under the Democratic banner.  The ex-Congressman tells the Associated Press that he is a political centrist and supports issues such as an increase in the minimum wage.  Davis filed a law week after the Alabama Democratic Party refused to reinstate him.
