Summary of Action in Alabama Legislature

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A summary of action in the Alabama
Legislature on Wednesday, a committee meeting day:
COMMITTEES
-Senate Tourism and Marketing Committee held a public hearing on
a proposed constitutional amendment to tax and regulate electronic
bingo, but did not vote.
-House Tourism and Travel Committee approved a revised version
of a bill to tax and regulate electronic bingo in eight counties.
Goes to House.
-House Constitution and Elections Committee approved a bill to
allocate Alabama's presidential electors based on the proportion of
the popular vote rather than winner take all. Goes to House.
-House Constitution and Elections Committee delayed
consideration of a bill providing for nonpartisan election of
judges.
AGENDA
-Senate Business and Labor Committee meets at 8:30 a.m. Thursday
in room 610 of the Statehouse to consider unemployment benefits
legislation.
-Senate Commerce, Transportation and Utilities Committee meets
at 9 a.m. Thursday in room 610 to consider graduated driver's
license legislation.
-House and Senate meet at 10 a.m. Thursday.
