State school board oks salary for Ala. two-year college chief

By Ala two-year chancellor to get $290k salary

Montgomery, AL – - The State Board of Education has
approved a salary of nearly $290,000 a year for Alabama's new
two-year college chancellor, Freida Hill.
The school board voted unanimously Thursday to pay Hill $289,900
annually, provide her with a state car, a $24,000 annual housing
allowance and pay up to $5,000 in moving expenses.
In addition, she can qualify for an additional $15,000 annually
in a performance bonus.
Her predecessor, Bradley Byrne, received $268,500 in
compensation plus the same car and housing allowance.
She will start her new job Dec. 1.
Hill has been serving as deputy commissioner of the Technical
College System of Georgia.
