State regulators order Alagasco to issue refunds

Montgomery, AL – - The Alabama Public Service Commission
has ordered a refund for Alagasco customers.
Alagasco provides natural gas for 440,000 customers in central
Alabama. The commission decided Tuesday that it's costing the
Birmingham-based utility less than expected to replace equipment
such as lines and meters.
The PSC says the average refund for a residential customer
should be $37, while Alagasco put the figure between $35 and $40.
Commission spokesman John Free says customers can expect the refund
in the form of a credit toward the monthly bill for either July or
August.
