Snow expected to fall across central, south Ala Friday

By Forecasters issue winter weather watch for southern half of state

Montgomery, AL – - Snow is forecast for Alabama, and it may
show up as far south as Mobile.
The National Weather Service says an inch or two can be expected
in the Birmingham area on Friday. The high temerature there is
expected to be 35, with a low Friday night in the mid-20s.
Two to four inches are possible in a portion of central Alabama
that stretches from Bibb and Chilton counties and southward to Pike
County, A winter storm watch is in effect from midnight Thursday to
6 p.m. Friday for that area.
Mobile meteorologist Don Faulkner said Bayou La Batre and
Dauphin Island could see some snow by late Friday morning.
He predicted as much as an inch along those coastal towns, 1 to
3 inches in Mobile and 3 to 5 inches in counties to the north.
