Search for Robbery Suspect

The Montgomery Police Department and CrimeStoppers are appealing for assistance in finding the male suspect who robbed a jewelry store on June 5th.  According to CrimeStoppers, the holdup occurred at Cronier's Jewelry on the East Boulevard.  The suspect is between 5'10'' to 6' and weighed 200 to 230 pounds.  The male robber wore an Army fatigue baseball cap, white t-shirt and dark colored jeans.  If you can identify or know where the suspect can be found, call Montgomery Police or CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP, your tip could lead to a cash reward. 

Prison Guard Trial

A former state prison guard at Tutwiler Prison in Wetumpka is scheduled to go on trial today in Elmore County Circuit Court.  Al.com reports that 33-year-old Matthew Hall of Montgomery is accused of custodial sexual misconduct.  Hall allegedly fondled and kissed a female inmate in March 2011.  Hall, who indicted in April 2013, pleaded not guilty to the charges. 

Prostitution Charge

Millbrook Police say two women are facing a charge of solicitation of prostitution.  Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson officers conducted a raid at the Royal Therapy Massage Parlor on Wall Street.  51-year-old Pyon Lee and 55-year-old Sok Sun Yun were also charged with performing a massage without a license.  The police raid was executed last Thursday.  Both women were released from the Elmore County Jail on bonds totaling $2,000 each. 

Less Salt

Food companies and restaurants could soon face government pressure to make their foods less salty.  It's a long-awaited federal effort to try to prevent thousands of deaths each year from heart disease and stroke.  The Food and Drug Administration is preparing to issue voluntary guidelines asking the food industry to lower sodium levels.
