(AP) - Interim Southern Christian Leadership
Conference President Rev. Byron Clay says he's been traveling
around the country, trying to mobilize marchers for his group's
renewed "Poor People's Campaign."
Clay says he's unsure how many will be drawn to Jackson for the
June 20 demonstration at the state Capitol.
Clay was in Jackson on Wednesday to announce details about the
campaign that is similar to the initiative Dr. Martin Luther King
was working on before he was killed 1968.
Clay says the SCLC is "planning to organize everyone we can,"
whether it's 10,000 to 100,000 marchers.
Clay says the SCLC wants to force the nation's leader to direct
resources to depressed areas of the country rather than corporate
