Schools Slated for Closure Will Remain Open

Montgomery, Alabama – The Montgomery County Board of Education is reversing its decision to close to area schools.

Hayneville Road Elementary and Pintlala Elementary schools will be able to keep their doors open if the Board receives help from the Alabama Legislature.

Board officials say the school may remain open if they system receives $1.4 million by May 1,2009.

Paterson Elementary, the third school that the Board named for closure, remains slated to shut down.
