Montgmomery, Ala – (AP) - Gov. Bob Riley has announced plans for a
five-day industry hunting trip to Germany.
Riley announced plans for the trip Thursday after meeting with
Germany's ambassador to the United States, Klaus Scharioth, and
Counsel General Lutz Goergens.
Riley said he will leave Alabama Tuesday and will meet in
Germany with officials from a company that is considering locating
in the state.
Riley said he and the German officials discussed strengthening
the partnership between Alabama and the European country.
More than 50 German-based companies are located in Alabama.
Those include the Mercedes automobile manufacturing plant in Vance
