Health Concerns

Several employees at a Selma-based auto supplier say they have suffered from health problems they believe are connected to work at the plant.  Al.com reports that nine current and three former workers at the Renosol seating factory in Selma have filed complaints with a federal agency and the United Auto Workers Union claiming chemicals used to manufacture foam cushions for car seats caused them to develop various respiratory-related illnesses, including asthma.  Renosol officials said in a statement that all health-related complaints are being investigated.  The Renosol plant in Selma makes car seats for Hyundai vehicles.
