Record Rain Falls on Montgomery Saturday

   Flash flood watches extend across a half-dozen states as torrential rains are expected in many areas of the South. The National Weather Service says there are flash flood watches in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Weekend rains have saturated the ground. Montgomery recorded over 8 inches of rain Saturday, which shattered the record for that date. The most rain that had fallen on May 20^th before Saturday was two inches. As property owners deal with the aftermath of the flash flooding that accompanied the copious rainfall, forecasters now say another 2 to 4 inches of rain is possible today and tomorrow.
