Police Dash Cam Video Released

Authorities have released the dash camera video that shows an Opelika police officer fatally shooting an armed man during an October traffic stop.  Al.com reports that the Lee County District Attorney's Office released the Oct. 31st video on Wednesday, four days after authorities announced that a grand jury declined to indict Officer Jared Greer.  Police say Greer feared for his life and shot 56-year-old Bernardo Tignor after he resisted arrest following a traffic stop and brandished a small caliber pistol during a struggle.  The video appears to show Greer firing his gun at Tignor nine times after repeatedly ordering the suspect to drop his weapon.  Opelika Police Chief John H. McEachern III says the shooting was justified and he stands by the findings of the grand jury.
