Oil spill in Gulf impacts businesses on Ala coast

By Realtor reports cancellations due to massive oil spill

Gulf Shores, AL – - Businesses along Alabama's coast say
they're starting to lose some tourism business because of the Gulf
of Mexico oil spill.
Sarah Kuzma of Meyer Real Estate, which has offices in Gulf
Shores and Orange Beach, says there's been a moderate increase in
cancellations so far.
Gary James, owner of By the Bay Pet Resort in Fairhope, said
Thursday he's unsure that out-of-state tourists will continue to
visit south Alabama with fears of the oil spill spreading.
James says six of his customers, who own eight large dogs among
them, had canceled their vacation plans in the last three days.
Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon says the city has environmental
emergency contractors on alert.
