New opponent for Alabama State University in Turkey Day Classic

Alabama State University has announced a significant change for the 94th annual Turkey Day Classic. Instead of playing Cheyney University, the Hornets will be taking on Edward Waters College. In a statement, ASU officials say Cheyney had to pull out of the game due to financial difficulties. Alabama State University President Quinton Ross thanked athletics department staff for their quick action in finding another opponent. It is not the first time the two schools have met. ASU and Edward Waters College played each other before back in 2009 with the Hornets coming out the victors. The 2017 edition of the Turkey Day Classic will kickoff at 2pm.
