Montgomery Police Make Multi-million Dollar Drug Bust

Montgomery, Alabama –
Montgomery Police say that on Tuesday officers working in the area of Interstate 85 North near the Mitylene exit saw something suspicious on a tractor trailer rig.

Officers pulled the rig over and made one of the departments largest drug busts ever.

Officers with the Crime Reduction Team confiscated $10 million dollars worth of powder cocaine. Police say getting it off the streets is significant because it prevents further criminal acts.

Last month, the the Montgomery Police Department's Crime Reduction Team seized 23 kilos of cocaine. The drug bust this week is more than 4 times that amount.
