Montgomery Man Dies in Motorcycle Accident

State Troopers says a Montgomery County man was killed Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle accident.  60-year-old William Terry Reynolds of Ramar died when the motorcycle he was riding crashed on Butler Mill Road near Liberty Church Road.  Troopers said the crash happened around 12:30 p.m.  

Teenagers Charged

Authorities in Columbus, Georgia, say two teenagers face charges of falsely reporting a crime following the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old Montgomery man in the west Georgia city.  Benjamin Walker Jr. of Montgomery died Saturday night at a Columbus hospital.  Columbus Police said they received a call early Saturday morning regarding a home invasion were told that Walker was shot during the break-in.  However, police later determined that there was no home invasion.  Columbus Police said a 16-year-old faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct and tampering with evidence.  An 18-year-old faces charges that include tampering with evidence, reckless conduct and theft.  

Court Permits Lawsuit

The Alabama Supreme Court says the parents of an underage girl can sue her boyfriend's parents over claims they took the girl to New York for an abortion.  The court on Friday reinstated a lawsuit filed last year by the parents of the girl.  A lower court in Birmingham threw out the lawsuit, ruling the girl's parents waited too long to file it.  The appeals court says that decision was wrong.  

Another Victory

For the second straight year, Montgomery Fire-Rescue has claimed first place honors in the Firefighter Combat Challenge World Championship.  A penalty helped the Montgomery Blue Firefighters edge our a team from Slovenia to claim the international title.  The week long Firefighter Combat Challenge events concluded Saturday in downtown Montgomery.
